Geocache Description:

Can you locate signs of the lost civilisation?

PLEASE TAKE CARE WITH THE CACHE CONTAINER and REPLACE AS YOU FOUND IT!

Archaeologists have discovered a lost civilization deep in the jungles of Lower Hutt.

The lost world resembles a "vast tended garden" and lies inland from the ancient port of Pito-one, an area known for swamps, poisonous plants and mosquito's the size of albatross.

The area was last explored over 70 years ago by Indiana Smith. The Australian adventurer emerged from the jungle in 1940, claiming to have found a "lost city of Waddingtonia".

More recent explorers have been unable to verify his claims, but have located ruins suggesting a long lost tribe once lived in the area.

If you seek to retrace their steps, please be mindful of the inquisitive primates that live near the area and avoid unnecessarily drawing attention to yourself...... they can be dangerous if spooked!

Beware the pit of doom where bone crushing falls, unknown water dwelling creatures... or at the very least, wet feet, may await you!

It is rumored that the members of this ancient clan had not mastered the written word.... so if you wish to record your adventures, a writing implement will be required.
