Geocache Description:

Sitting high atop a small hill in the historic town of Hancock, MD, is tiny Riverview Cemetary.  This peaceful and serene location is all but unknown to the town surrounding it.  There is very little history known about it, but what is known is that it was originally owned by the town, but was eventually deeded to St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, who is charged with its care and upkeep.  There aren't a large number of residents here, so they don't get many visitors.

The cache was placed with the kind permission of St. Thomas'. The church itself is historically significant, in that it was home to an army field hospital that cared for Union soldiers during the Civil War, and many Civil War dead are buried in its own cemetery, which surrounds it and St. Peter's Catholic Church next door. Visitors to that cemetery are also welcome.

Access is a little tricky, as the stairs leading up to it are steep, so exercise caution when ascending and descending.  There is access directly to the area, but again, use care, as it is not a paved road, and it is adjacent to a private parking lot (take the left fork, not the right.)  It is highly recommended that you use the stairs in bad weather, as entrance by GCV will be dicey at best if there is any precipitation. And, as usual, be respectful of the location, and only attempt this cache during daylight hours.  This is a child-friendly cache, but be aware that there are steep drop-offs, so keep a close eye on your young cachers.

Please be considerate and place the cache back as well hidden as you found it.  (or better)  And please, if you don't leave something, DON'T take anything.  There is nothing as disappointing as expecting to find swag, but finding an empty container. Let's keep this obsession of ours fun for everyone!

Now, for the cache.  The listed coordinates will lead you to a place where a very young one rests. The circumstances of his residency here are unknown, but he will help you find the location of your own final destination (cache-wise.)

Once you have located our young helper, you will set your GPSr to a bearing of 0 degrees north, and travel a distance of approximately 50 feet, where your treasure awaits.  You are looking for a small lock-and-lock, which has been supplied with plenty of swag, a log, and a writing implement, (but it's always a good idea to bring your own, just in case.)

Congratulations to timbee&suebee for getting the FTF! (And thanks for the nice comments!)
