Geocache Description:

This is a challenge cache. The cache is at the listed coordinates but in order to claim a find against it you must have found 8 Irish Letterbox Hybrid caches and off course sign the challenge cache log. From my own experience I find Letterbox Hybrids tend to take you on very pleasant walks/drives but sadly there are very few of them in Ireland (19 at the time of publication) I am hoping that this challenge will be enjoyable for cachers and possibly encourage COs to place more caches of this type

The given D/T is to reflect the D/Ts on some of the qualifying caches. The terrain rating for the challenge cache would be no greater than 2

You can find a list of current Letterbox Hyrids as follows;

On the "Hide and Seek a Cache" menu; search by country (selecting Ireland)

In the "search for" drop down list change "all geocaches" to "Letterbox Hybrid" and click "search for geocaches"

This will give you a list of the current Letterbox hybrids in Ireland. For more seasoned cachers, old finds do count, including finds on now archived caches.

When logging the find you must include your qualifying list (including GC code) You can off course sign the log if you're in the area but no find is to be logged online until you have qualified

The cache:

The cache is hidden along the beautiful 8 mile Forest Drive on the lower slopes of Slieve Gullion. In order to find it you will have to follow the drive from the Courtyard Carpark almost the whole way to ground zero. There are also multiple traditional caches along the way, some drivebys and some that involve a bit more effort;

Please note that the cache is hidden along an 8 mile drive taking in some breathtaking scenery enroute. The cache is hidden within one mile of the end of the drive

Once you've signed the log follow the road on to the end of the drive. Once you reach the staggered crossroads at the Three Steps pub you can turn left to bring you back towards Newry
