New Derrick Trailhead Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

02Bhkn: Seven years is a pretty good run for a traditional cache.

I had noted the DNF's and this cache was on my maintenance list for my next visit to the Payson area. I also had communicated with one of the DNF'rs and they had an extra hint and planned to try again. However, now there is a micro throw-down that I did not authorize, so I am archiving the cache. I will pick up my original cache if I can find it when I visit.

Thanks to all who found this cache. It was fun reading through the on-line logs. Happy caching!

Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to Chelsea Muise of the US Forest Service in honor of all she has done for recreation on the Payson Ranger District.

Drive north up Tonto Creek from Hwy 260.  Look for a sign that says "Derrick TH Parking" at a parking lot with an outhouse.  Walk across the road and hike up the trail 2 tenths of a mile with 120 feet of elevation gain.  Please stay on the trail until you are 20 feet from the cache.  It prevents erosion to switchback up the hill instead of going straight up.

There is no FTF prize, but there is a medal for the second to find.
