Nestling in a valley close to Penryn, Argal offers a great opportunity for a peaceful day in the countryside. Surrounded by sloping fields it is overlooked by the picturesque Mabe Church.
The lake is noted for its wildlife and beautiful walks, there is a circular walk of about two miles (stout footwear is recommended) which passes through woods and meadows.
There are plenty more ideal places to hide caches around the lake and it would be great to see some other cachers add to this series!
This cache was inspired by the Defective Detectives' previous cache (now archived) in a nearby location, in fact we sought permission from DD to 'borrow' an item to assist this hide. Please take care where opening and closing the cache container as it has a water-tight seal and lock, you need to flick the catch up and twist to open. Cache has a logbook, pencil and some swappables. Beware of swans! When we hid this cache we had to abandon the first attempt due to a group of swans who came ashore and hissed at us!
This cache is placed with the kind permission of South West Lakes Trust, thanks to Rick.
Congratulations to Geology Boy for scoring 5 FTFs for the series!
