Geocache Description:

A easy hike from the Lodge of Koele or a drive along the Munro trail.

This cache can be found from either the Munro trail or the Koloiki ridge trail. The hike is quite suitable for children. If you take the ridge trail you'll pass through Hulopo'e Valley along the way. You may not be able to get satellite reception along the hike, but readings are possible close to the cache.

James Munro was a ranch manager on Lanai at the turn of the century (the 20th). In order to create a watershed area on Lanai he planted the ridge with trees. The Cook Island pines help to draw water from the passing clouds. The pines also lend a distinctive note to this part of the island. The misty rolling hills of Lanai are very different from other parts of the island. During this hike you'll also see ironwood and eucalyptus trees (take a deep breath and you'll smell the eucalyptus too).

This cache is fairly small. If you plan to place something in the cache you'll want to take size into consideration. Please rehide the cache carefully and please do not place food in the cache.
