This cache is located at Blackfoot Meadow, a nice mountain meadow near the headwaters of the Little Blackfoot River. Good fishing for cutthroat and brook trout. The hike or bike in is 5.5 miles and is relatively easy. There are two river crossings, but good bridge for the first and ok log bridge for the second. Stay on forest service trail 329 until you reach the meadow. The cache is located a short distance from the trail and is a military first aid kit container.
At Blackfoot Meadow, you can see the remnants from two entrepreneur's efforts to operate a beaver farm in the 1920s. For five years these men built dams and raised beaver for pelts at the meadow. Two of the larger dams remain, about .3 miles from each other. A small swampy pond remains at the meadow. Good place to catch frogs. Also good place to see elk, moose and nice birding along the trail.
Also a memorable cache for helenawolverine because he solidly out fished his parents on the hike in to place this cache.
