Geocache Description:

I was obviously inspired by the nickname given to us Coasties by US Navy sailors. It's not too far off the trail. Happy caching!

This is a beautiful area of forest that has been preserved for people to walk and enjoy nature. Although it is surrounded by residential areas, there are very few people and the setting feels extremely secluded. A parking area is available off of Acorn Lane. There are a couple other caches in this area, so make this a three cache search!

Puddle Pirates are a small group of men and women conducting maritime, military and, multi-mission service unique among the U.S. military branches. They protect the Homeland with jurisdiction in both domestic and international waters. They are referred to as puddle pirates typically by members of the US Navy due to the short nature of their deployments (typically 4 months or less unless in combat zones, in which case they are 12 months). A popular joke goes something like this: "Did you know the US Coast Guard has a height requirement of 6' minimum to join? That way if their ship sinks they can walk to shore." Semper paratus, cache mates, and happy caching!
