Utsiktspunktet ligg 310moh og med utsikt mot omkringliggande fjell, fjorden mot sør som fører inn til Eikefjorden i aust, fjorden mot nord som fører inn i Norddalsfjorden i aust, og utsikt mot Brandsøyåsen, litt av Florø og øyar i vest. Uførefjellet har namnet sitt frå den fråflytta garden Uføre som ligg ved Norddalsfjorden nordvest for Uførefjellet. Fjellet blir også kalt Sundafjellet, og har då namnet sitt frå Leversundet, som ligg på sørsida av fjellet, ved Eikefjorden. Uførefjellet er ein langstrakt åsrygg som går aust-vest mellom dei to fjordane Eikefjorden på sørsida og Norddalsfjorden i nord. Det er ein god bestand av hjort (Cervus elaphus) i dette området. Spesielt er det godt vinterbeite i brattlendet i sør. Det er registrert kvitryggspett (Dendrocopus leucotus) og nøttekråke (Nucifraga caryocatactes), og begge arter er trolig hekkefugl.
Denne turen er fin å gå med barn også, men då må ein naturlegvis legge inn betre tid. Stien varierar mellom bratte og flate parti heile vegen frå parkeringsplassen og fram til cachen og utsiktspunktet. Langs heile ruta finn du sokkelar som står att etter dei tidlegare telemastene. Erfaringsmessig er det lurt med langbukser i tillegg til gode tursko, fordi lyng og nåletre veks inn på stien og kan skrape opp bare leggar.
Cachen inneholder loggbok, blyant, laminert ark om geocaching i tilfelle gomper, dimplomer til FTF, STF og TTF + ei lita gåve til FTF frå Rhodos der vi fann vår første geocache, og ein liten pose med bytteting (Eit snegleskjel frå Rhodos, ein snurrebass, ei lita badeand, ein Miffy-figur, ein nøkkelring, ein ring, ein leikegullmynt, ein "diamant" og ein liten karabinkrok. The viewpoint is 310 metre over sea level, overlooking the surrounding mountains, the fjords to both south and north, and Brandsøyåsen, Florø and the surrounding islands to the west. Uførefjellet has its name from the abandoned farm Uføre located at Norddalsfjord northwest of Uførefjellet. The mountain is also called Sundafjellet, with that name from Leversyndet which lies on the southern side of the mountain. Uførefjellet is an elongated ridge that runs east-west between the two fjords Eikefjord on the south side and Norddalsfjord in the north. There is a good population of red deer (Cervus elaphus) in this area. It is particularly good winter grazing in the steep terrain in the south. White-backed woodpecker (Dendrocopus leucotus) and nut crow (Nucifraga caryocatactes) has both been registered here, and both species are probably breeding birds. This is a nice hike with kids too, but naturally, then you have to have more time to spend. The path varies between steep and flat all the way from the parking lot until the cache and viewpoint. Along the whole route you will find shelf that is left behind by the former telecom masts.Masta It is wise to wear long pants in addition to hiking boots, because of heather and conifer alternating the path, and may scratch bare legs.
The cache contains a logbook, pencil, laminated sheets about geocaching in case of muggles, dimploma to FTF, STF and TTF + a small gift to the FTF from Rhodes where we found our first geocache, and a small bag with stuff to swap (A snail shellfish from Rhodes, a spinning top , a small rubber duck, a tiny Miffy, a key chain, a ring, a cinch gold coin, a "diamond" and a small carabiner.
