Geocache Description:

The cache is similar to 35mm container. Good luck huntung around one of the beautiful churches of Vilnius.

Cerkvė pastatyta 1913 metais carų Romanovų dinastijos 300 metų jubiliejaus proga ir pavadinta apaštališkojo caro Konstantino ir šventojo Michailo Maleino garbei. Ji pastatyta valdininko I. Kolesnikovo (žymus rusų cerkvių fundatorius) lėšomis. Architektūros stilius – Rostovo ir Suzdalės. Cerkvės vidus buvo ištapytas senovės rusų stiliumi (dabar neišlikę). Architektai V. Adamovičius ir A. Špakovskis. Iš Maskvos atgabenta 13 varpų. Cerkvė pašventinta gegužės 9 dieną, į iškilmes atvyko kunigaikštienė Jelizaveta Romanova.

1915 m. miestą okupavę vokiečiai cerkvėje laikydavo komendanto valandos nesilaikančius asmenis. XX a. tarpukariu cerkvė priskirta stačiatikių soborui, 1921–1926 m. remontuota. Nuo 1939 m. joje dirbo Aleksandras Nesterovičius,1951–1956 m. kalintas už antitarybinę veiklą. 1946 m. parapijoje buvo 300 tikinčiųjų. 1947 m. sovietai cerkvę oficialiai įregistravo.
