Geocache Description:

Welcome to Fountain Green, UT, home of Lamb Day (raising sheep and turkeys are what many of the residents have done and still do for a living), a fun festival in July with a parade, mutton busting, etc., with some real tasty lamb/mutton sandwiches. My favorite part was the greased pole, which had money on top, but was REALLY hard to get up.

Fountain Green has its own Post Office, General Store, Gas Station, Health Clinic, and an LDS Chapel Building (among other things). It has a population of about 1000.

Personal Note: This was where I grew up as a kid, before moving when I was 12. We lived on 400 S and 200 W, kitty corner to the Bailey's, on property bought from Oliver Fields, a longtime resident of Fountain Green (you'll see his name on the engraved welcome sign). I have loads of great memories here, and though we moved quite a bit after leaving town, this will always be considered my home. One of my ancestors, Reece Llewellyn, also helped found the town (his house is still standing). Though most people just pass on through, I'm sure that if you stop by and chat, you'll have a pleasant experience.

Note: There is also a survey marker marked by a post just ~10 ft to the east of the sign.
