Geocache Description:

The KT event series moves to the Ship in Styal on Tuesday 16th September 2014 from 6:30pm Onwards.

After a massive renovation, the Ship reopened in January 2014 under a new cheshire pub chain and has been brought the back to its former glory with original timber clad walls, an open fire behind the bar and characterful postcards from the 1960’s! The 350 year old inn was once known as the ‘Shippon’, a farm building used to store manure however it then became the Ship Inn when the farmer who owned it started brewing for the local people. It now attracts visitors from the nearby Quarry Bank Mill, one of Britain’s most famous heritage sites and the inspiration behind Channel 4’s period drama ‘The Mill’.

Food is served until 9pm and the menu boasts a variety of dishes that will hopefully appeal to everyone. A sample menu can be seen here (visit link)

The event will keep to the regular formula of KT tradition of food, drink and geochat with a few geocaches going live for the event at 8pm however the area is also home to two large cache series which you can do if you wish to spend an afternoon in the area.

Please can you state in your will attend log whether you wish to eat so I can keep the pub informed of numbers.

Public transport to and from the pub is either from Styal railway station, the 200 bus service (Manchester Airport - Wilmslow) (however these both stop running at 6:30pm) or Wilmslow railway station which is a taxi ride away.
