Geocache Description:

Dingle  - A beautiful port in the County of Kerry. Stroll out on to the marina and take in the beauty of the mountains and sea.

Dingle port was established in the 12th Century after the Norman invasion of Ireland. By the 14th Century importing wine was big business. 200 years later Dingle was one of Ireland's main ports exporting fish and hides and importing wine from the continent.

Fishing in Dingle dates back to around the 1830s when the Great Famine acted as a catalyst and locals took to the sea in search of food and a livelihood.

The cache is micro and you will need to BRING YOUR OWN PEN!

Please move away from the rocks to fill in the logbook as it would be too easy to drop the entire cache between the rocks and lose it forever!
