We bring our dog, Roscoe, here to swim in the Schoharie Creek (not often enough), and we decided this was the best place to pay him homage with a cache. Although only five and a half, last month, Roscoe had his spleen removed after a large mass was detected. It had only barely ruptured, but post-operative tests revealed the dreaded diagnosis of hemangiosarcoma: Cancer. Our young pup, although now spry and happy, will probably not live much more than six months to a year. With a prescription of filet mignon and Ben & Jerry's, we hope to come to the creek often this summer so Roscoe can swim as much as possible during his last summer.
This is a popular fishing spot, so beware of muggles, especially in nice weather!
