Motel Krak to już legenda. Niegdyś był jednym z najmodniejszych i najbardziej znanych miejsc noclegowych w Krakowie. Działała tam również dyskoteka. Powstał w pierwszej połowie lat 70, Miał trzy gwiazdki i dobre położenie. Dlatego był bardzo lubiany przez kierowców i turystów.
Rondo przylegające do terenów Motelu przez wiele lat było nazywane Rondem Kraka, a przystanek Motelem Kraka. Dopiero kilka lat temu zmieniono nazwę przystanku na Rondo Ofiar Katynia.
Z Motelem związany jest też skandal – tajemniczy pokój numer 71. Pokój został wynajęty przez Urzad Miasta i nie był opłacany przez ponad rok, ponoć miał być tajemnym pokojem schadzek Prezydenta Miasta i kiedy zaczął się wieloletni spór sądowy pomiędzy miastem i prezydentem miasta, wtedy pojawiły się podsłuchy, nagrania, pokój 71 i wzajemne oskarżenia.

Motel eventually deteriorated and fell into debt. After unsuccessful attempts to sell the facility along with the plot, the authorities decided to demolish Krakow building.
