Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!!

Cache is along a THPRD maintained trail, that doesn't show up on Google maps yet.

When parking: You may use unmarked/uncovered parking spaces.

This puzzle will be easy for some, difficult for others, and near impossible for yet others. You will need a good ear, musical training (a sight singing and dictation class would be helpful), a musical instrument to match pitch with, and/or a captive musician.

A little lesson in music theory

Every Major scale has 7 different notes in it. The note are numbered as they ascend the scale. For simplicity's sake, we will simply label each note 1-7. Every scale ends with the same note it started on, just an octave higher than 1. That note will be 8. In a B flat scale those notes are:

8. B flat
7. A
6. G
5. F
4. E flat
3. D
2. C
1. B flat

Each of those notes has a distinct frequency, or pitch that your ears can distinguish from the other pitches. Listen to the video of the B flat Major scale in the link below to listen to the difference between each note: (p.s. you may be referencing this video a lot to figure out the puzzle.)

The Rules

1. Each note in the two video links below will correspond to a number in the final cache coordinates. (Don't worry, I play the notes in order.)

2. The notes I play will equal the number of the note in the scale. For example, the first two notes in the cache are 4 and 5 (N45), so the notes I play are E flat=4, then F=5.

3. Any rests, (silent beats) equal zero.

4. There are no nines, so don't fret over them missing in the cheat sheet above.

5. For those who wonder (I've been asked) I am playing an alto saxophone in the videos.
