The Boudicca Way
“I am nearly back to my horse now, this pathway is so muddy though, my sandals are soaked through and the mud is up above my greaves at times. How I long to be back on the Roman road with their strong smooth surfaces. I have heard that the new roads are being built with a slight slant so that they can drain more easily too! I will always love this patrol route, I wonder what will be here in a few thousand years’ time? Will these fields be part of a bustling Roman city or perhaps farmland for wheat providing the empire with food? I only hope that the land is still as beautiful, as calm and as peaceful as it is now. Ave Galba!”
