Raumati residents have been volunteering their time in what is a small reserve tucked behind private residences.
A number of different fruit trees have been planted in th orchard since 2011. Trees include:
- Apple
- Pear
- Peach
- Avacado
- Raspberry
- Passionfruit
- Lemons
- Figs
- Feijoas
- Quince
- Plums
A lot of time has gone into preparing the sandy soil with compost, mulch, peat etc. The trees are not sprayed, and organic princples are followed.
If you come in summer, you may find fruit on the trees. You are welcome to eat fruit within the orchard. Please don't take fruit away though.
When you find the cache, please try to limit the amount of loose matter that may fill it. Try to keep materials from entering the hide. Replace it gently so it looks 'right'.
