Faversham is believed to have Britain’s longest railway footbridge, the prosaically named Long Bridge, between the town’s Recreation Ground and Preston Avenue and Love Lane.
You are at the South end of this bridge. If you go up and part way along the bridge you can view some old railway buildings, and of course the current railway.
The foot bridge is 570 feet in length.
It spans the junction at Faversham where the line to London splits to provide trains to the North of Kent towards Ramsgate and Margate, and to the South of Kent towards Canterbury and Dover.
From the bridge you can enjoy close up views of passing trains
