In the early morning of December 26, 1776, General George Washington divided his Continental army for a two-pronged surprise attack on the Hessian garrison in Trenton. General Nathanael Greene’s column approached the city from the NW. The other column, led by General John Sullivan, marched down the Old River Road and entered Trenton from the SW. This strategy resulted in a major military victory and was the turning point of the American Revolutionary War.
As the name crossroads implies, this cache is near an intersection of streets. Please obey the crossing signs and be careful if you have small children with you. You'll be in the vicinity of a cool drink or snack once you find this cache so you can sit, contemplate the bravery of our forefathers and enjoy the little garden.
