Historic Farewell Bend State Recreation Area, located on the Oregon/Idaho border north west of Ontario, offers a beautiful desert experience on the banks of the Snake River's Brownlee Reservoir. Pioneers traveling on the historic Oregon Trail once rested and enjoyed one last look at the river. Historic markers and interpretive displays provide visitors with information on Farewell Bend's significance on the Oregon Trail.

At times the mosquitoes can be troublesome in the summer months. So come prepared with insect repellent!
