NOTE: It is highly recommended that you park at the suggested coordinates across the highway, then cross on foot to the tiny pullout and gate. There is extremely limited sight distance on 385 both north and southbound if you park at the gate, and there's only room for 1, maybe 2 vehicles.
This cache is the third of four caches placed along or near an old road / hiking trail on the west side of Sheridan Lake. None of these are especially hard, and are fairly easy to find. The hide styles are all somewhat different, as is each cache container. Pay attention to the terrain ratings. This particular cache is off trail a few hundred feet. down near the lake shore. As you navigate around the fallen trees blocking your path and return to the trail, look for a fairly level area heading south. That's the best route to and from this cache.
You are looking for a small lockable container hidden in an obvious spot. Be sure to cover it back up after you're done. From here, it is recommended you head back to the trail the same route you got here, rather than head directly to the fourth cache. It's slightly longer distance wise, but less steep up and down.
As with all our caches, stay safe and have fun!
