Access is from the Guist Creek Marina (Parking Waypoint included on GC57MDT and GC5832B). There is a $5 per vehicle launch fee. Power boats are allowed and most of these caches are accessible from a jon boat. This is a fishing lake and there is a public fishing access point near the bridge, however, it is CLEARLY POSTED: NO LAUNCHING FROM THIS SITE, and a Shelby County Sheriff's car patrolled the area while we were there grabbing another cache.
While working on the Challenge Caches in the area, we found it hard to believe that a body of water of this size did not sport a wide selection of paddle caches. With a couple yaks, a few containers, and a little time, we have endeavored to solve that problem.
The caches have been placed as 2 separate trails - North (Approx 10 miles) and South (Approx 7.5 miles). Most of the caches are zip tied preforms and rx bottles with vinyl logs - bring your Sharpie or similar writing instrument. Tweezers may be a plus. Most were placed without leaving the yaks. Changes in the container types or caches that require to you leave your watercraft will be clearly annotated on the cache page.
Coordinates have been averaged to within at least 10', often under heavy cover. Your results may vary, so hints are being provided.
