THE STORY
5 local geocachers are each working on a new mystery-cache. They each have a different type of mystery in mind, and they each use a different type of container. Finally, each of their new caches end up with a different rating for difficulty (a number of stars).
THE ELEMENTS
- The Mystery Builders' names are: Dane42 (0), MaMiFKa (1), Naesby (2), Olefant (3) and Xcure (4)
- The mystery types are: Anagram Riddle (0), HTML-code (1), Knowledge Quiz (2), Math Exercise (3) and Spoiler Picture (4)
- The containers are: Nano (0), Bison (1), Petling (2), Flapbox (3) and Ammo-box (4)
- The difficulties are: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 stars
(The small numbers in paranthesis are for calculations - see below)
THE INSTRUCTIONS
At the bottom of this page, you will get 6 pieces of information, that will allow you to match each name with a mystery type, a container and a difficulty. Put the correct combinations into the table below. Then for each row add up the numbers in parenthesis + the difficulties to find the sums A-E ("A" obviously being the top one in the table, "B" being the second and so on). These results for A-E can then be used to calculate the final coordinates.
Example: Let us assume that Dane42 creates a HTML-code mystery and hides a Petling with 5 stars in difficulty. The sum for A would then be 0 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 8. (THAT WAS AN EXAMPLE – DON’T USE IT TO SOLVE THE ACTUAL TASK.)
THE COORDINATES
When you are done the cache is here:
N 55 (A + D + D + E).(B * B * E – (A * A + B + C))
E 012 (A + B + C + E).(C * D * 2)
THE INFORMATION
Got it? OK we are ready to go. Here is the information you need:
- Naesby has cleverly hidden the coordinates to his cache in the HTML-code on his cache page. Tricky!
- The mystery which leads to finding a Petling is the easiest of them all.
- Xcure has applied his devious mind to inventing a horribly difficult 5-star mystery.
- The hard-to-find Nano placed by MaMiFKa cannot be found by answering the Knowledge Quiz, which by the way happens to be a difficulty level 2 mystery.
- Olefant did not compose a 3-star mystery. Nor did one of the other guys who placed a Bison container. And by the way, that Bison cannot be found by figuring out where the Spoiler Picture of a majestic statue was taken.
- The ever popular Ammo-box can be found by solving a humorous Anagram Riddle, which by the way has a difficulty of less than 4 stars.
THE CACHE
It is a bison. DONT step onto the road to search. You dont need to, and it may get you killed!
GOOD LUCK!!! Even though you dont need it - logic is enough.
