Borris - The Georgian Town Traditional Cache

Borris is a beautiful, untouched Georgian town, full of charm and heritage nestling in the fertile valley of the River Barrow, below the gentle curve of the Blackstairs Mountains. Many shops have kept their traditional fronts and the local public houses have earned nationwide recognition for their friendly, old world atmosphere and traditional music.

This stunning little town is unique with beautiful flowers, a large stoned wall around the town.The MacMurrough Kavanagh dynasty, former Celtic Kings of Leinster, are central to this picturesque town of old stone buildings and the family still live at Borris House in the town centre. Built in Tudor style the house is a spacious and magnificent structure, and is open to groups by prior arrangement Tel: 0503-73105. The house and its occupants have formed an important part of the history of South Carlow down through the centuries.

The cache is a medium "snack box" cache sized camoflauged container, just up from a picnic area in a small walkway srrounded by old trees. The cache is within the foiliage, so please be careful.
