Within the Black Hills, there are over 3,600 miles of roads and trails open for motorized travel. These roads (other than state or county highways) are designated by a 3 digit decimal number, the trails are designated by a 4 digit number. Any trail or road without a number is not open to motorized vehicles at all. Roads are generally open to all vehicles, some are seasonally open. Some roads and trails are permanently gated shut. Trails can be open to all vehicles, however some are only open to OHV's (Off Highway Vehicles) only, with some of those having specific width restrictions. Riding motorized vehicles on designated trails require a Motorized Trail Permit. It is your responsibility to know and abide by these regulations while traveling in the Black Hills.
This cache is at one of the many signs reminding you of these rules. It's just a magnetic micro, WAY up there. Bring a TOTT or two. Please replace the cache up where you found it, so the next person has the same level of difficulty. As with all our caches, use stealth if needed, be safe, and have fun!
