Chopwell Wood contains 360-hectares of mixed woodland right on the edge of Gateshead. There are miles of paths throughout the woodland which makes it a fantastic venue for walking and cycling. The woodland has a really diverse history, with some of it going back to nearly 6000 years ago. This geocaching trail includes 17 caches plus a bonus cache which can all be found by following the official 'River Walk' through the wood. This first cache is located near to the main car mark to make a quick and easy find.
