Any walking is nice and easy with no hills. The cache is set in a park with good access and facilities, although unfortunately no dogs or cats are allowed. Gates are open between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm every day. Car parking is also good on all but the busiest summer days. Free gas BBQs, toilets and a children’s playground are provided, and there is access to a narrow beach. Further details of this and other nearby attractions are provided in the hints below. In case you don’t want to spoil the nature of this location, they are encrypted.
A little number crunching is required, but should not be difficult.
1. At the posted coordinates you will find a car park. Nearby you will see an information board.
How many silhouettes can you see on the board?
Number of silhouettes + 198 = aaa
Then find the post-code
Last two digits of postcode + 915 = bbb
2. S 37 55.aaa, E 144 45.bbb
Another car park. The coordinates should place you roughly between two metal gates.
Multiply the numbers on the gates to get a two-digit result.
Gate number result + 670 = ccc
Gate number result + 280 = ddd
3. S 37 55 .ccc, E 144 46.ddd.
Here you will find a open grassy area with several structures nearby.
Find a plaque on a nearby wooden post.
Number of lines of text on the plaque = e
Number of words in last line of text = f
First digit of date = g
Last digit of date = h
Number of icons on the nearby green post = j
Number of swings in the playground = k
Number of slippery dips in the playground = m
Number of drinking fountains at this playground = p
Number of bench seats close to the playground = q
4. GZ: S 37 55.(j+k)hp, E 144 46.gf(e+q).
Check sums: S36, E34
The cache is a camouflaged 5 litre plastic box. It is fairly close to a picnic area and playground, and there is a table nearby; you should have no trouble retrieving it in the off-season, but be careful you aren’t being watched at other times. Please make sure the cache is not visible when you replace it, and tidy up the surrounds to remove any visible signs of your visit.
5. The contents of the cache reflect the cache title. Please replace any item you take with another in keeping with this kitchen theme. We look forward to reading your logs.
Other nearby attractions in this area are the Point Cook Homestead (entry fee required), the Cheetham Wetlands Tower (a 1.5 km walk each way from the Homestead gate), and the RAAF Museum (open 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Weekdays, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Weekends and Public Holidays, and closed Mondays, Good Friday and Christmas Day.
