Geocache Description:


This large complex which has a dominant location as you enter Oamaru from the North is currently "Home Sweet Home" for over 90 senior citizens from North Otago. The complex was first opened in 1954 and has had a number of extensions and updates over the years. This cache is placed in the beautiful front garden space of the complex with the kind permission of both residents and staff of the rest home. Some of the residents are keen to look out for any visiting cacher so give them a wave if you spot some one looking out from the complex or chat to anyone who maybe enjoying time in the gardens. They are also very interested to read log your cache and online logs. The cache is a small screw capped tube container complete with logbook only, bring your own pen. Please only attempt this cache during daylight hours. Parking is available on Thames Highway.
