Being a letterbox cache, there is a stamp in the cache for you to stamp into your own log book (or paper). PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THIS STAMP FROM THE CACHE. There is no inkpad in the cache so bring your own inkpad (or marker) if you want to stamp! I have stamped the cover of the log so you can see what it looks like - it's our first homemade stamp. Use your GPSr (waypoint projection) and/or the story to help navigate you to the cache. Now, on to the story:
Have you ever wondered what makes the forest grow so lush and green!?!? Join 'Spark the Electrical Impulse' on his journey and he will show you the power source for this forest! Spark uses the trails in the forest to provide energy to everything you see here. He is lightning fast and never stops to take a break.... except for today! He will be your guide to the power source.
Spark greets you at the posted coordinates, a light post. Spark is eager to tell you the location of the forest's power source so he provides you with the following information... 285 degrees, 86 meters... which you can use to project the final location.
Spark will accompany you and will help you navigate his energy routes (trails). First, he shows you to the entrance to the forest (trailhead coordinates as an additional waypoint). As electricity and water do not mix, Spark has built a nice bridge to keep you from getting wet. Once across, you soon arrive to a hub where three trails are visible. Spark is excited as these are his primary energy routes. Spark instructs you to take the trail which has a bearing of 300 degrees. You can be confident in your decision if you see a large 'exaggerated V'. Continue along the trail which will bend to the left. You can now feel the energy in the air! Continuing along, Spark signals that the old decaying stump to your right was an early ancestor of this forest. Finally, you come to a large tree which has fallen across your path. Spark stops. Spark begins to glow brighter and brighter.... the power source is here! Spark instructs you to pass on the right side of the fallen tree, and you see something of pure energy to your right. It is affixed to a nearby tree just off the trail. As you admire the power source of the forest, Spark darts along the trail leaving behind his green glory for all to enjoy.
The power source (aka cache) opens at the top. It's fuel cell contains a pencil, log, stamp, and geocoin to move along. Please replace everything as found.
++ Congratulations to skidsavage on the FTF!! ++
