For many years the town made a swimming hole here by pushing big rocks across the river to dam up a small area. I do not remember when or why, but they stopped doing that many years ago. Now the parking area has washed out and the beach has become brush and trees. I stood at the water today and thought about how it used to be . The water looked so clear and inviting, I almost jumped in. I find it a shame that there are so many things we older folks enjoyed that the younger generation is missing out on.
