LT. Pietiniam Kauno krašte, prie pat Nemuno ir senamiesčio, iš senų laikų išliko seno stiliaus mediniais nameliais apstatyta Mažoji Vilniaus gatvė. Taip ji vadinosi rusų laikais. Nepriklausomoj Lietuvoj ji pakrikštyta Klaipėdos gatve. Klaipėdiečiai džiaugėsi, kad jų krašto svarbiausias miestas yra gerbiamas. Klaipėdos krašto spauda tą faktą paminėjo. O vėliau, kai sužinojo, kas toj gatvėj gyvena, gailėjosi apsidžiaugę, ėmė protestuoti. Kauno miesto savivaldybė įvertino klaipėdiečių protestus, ir gatvę pavadino Nemuno gatve... Ne paslaptis, kad tarpukariu prostitucijos lizdas telkėsi pačioje Kauno širdyje – centre – Nemuno gatvėje.
Gatvė nuo tarpukario pasikeitė ir nedaugelis kauniečių žino apie jos praeitį, tačiau ir dabar dar galima pamatyti kelis išlikusius medinius namukus ar vidinius kiemus, kuriuose kažkada virė nuodėmingas gyvenimas.
