Popular Two Rivers State Recreation Area, with its distinctive Caboose “cabins” and put-and-take trout fishing lake is unique among Nebraska’s state recreation areas. Two Rivers SRA encompasses some 644 acres of land and about 320 acres of water in the form of sand pit lakes, just off of NE 92, 1 mile south and 1 mile west of Venice. Acquired by the Game and Parks Commission in 1958 and open to the public since 1960, Two Rivers developed into one of the state’s most used recreation areas during its 45-plus year history. Other facilities and activities include excellent campgrounds, a swimming beach, picnicking, fishing, handicap fishing pier, playgrounds for the children and hunting in season. A concession is also on site.
