Geocache Description:

Stews Standing Stone

This cache is a 700 ml cliplock container with logbook and pen with room for swaps and trackables.

This is another example of where a standing stone has been placed with magnificent views of the surrounding area. The Stews Standing Stone can be accessed directly from the field gate that is very close to the Car Park. However the walk up the field is very steep and you will miss out on a very relaxing and scenic circular walk. The circular route is about a 1.2 miles taking in part of the Stews Coastal path, with a few micro caches along the way. The path is not to close to the cliffs but it is well worth leaving the path to get closer to the edge to take in the views and see the Fulmars sitting on the ledges. An alternative would be to start from The Pools of Cletts. The walk along the sandy beach from The Pools of Cleets to the first cache is just over a mile making an over all walk of about 3.3 miles.
