Geocache Description:

A standing dead tree is often referred to as a snag or "dead wood".  Standing dead trees provide critical habitat for many species. Birds, small mammals, and other wildlife use snags for nests, nurseries, storage areas, foraging, roosting and perching. Each “dead tree” has unique qualities about them.

This cache is located on the Ward Creek Trail near a viewing platform.  At this bend in the creek there are several trees that have fallen over the creek making this a great spot to fish during certain times of the year.  The cache is small but has a log, pencil and some swag in it.
