Jack Butterfield was born in Regina on August 1st, 1919. He was the president of the American Hockey League and solidified a relationship between the NHL teams and the AHL teams, setting up a farm team system for player development. He also did this during the 1970's when the World Hockey Association formed and was know for drafting players from wherever they could to compete with the NHL.
He was inducted into the HHOF as a builder in 1980 and died on October 16th, 2010.
