Rakatu Wetlands Cache (Fiordland) Traditional Cache

This cache is great for beginners and involves an awesome view of a wetland area which is home to many different types of wildlife. 

Your walk to the cache is about a 10-15 minutes and there is a small hill however the view is worth the climb. 

The cache is a 1L clear sistema container with the usual stuff inside. The view is great from where the cache is placed.  

If you wish, you can walk right round the wetlands, continuing past the cache. This loop is about 7km and takes just over an hour. Kids would love the walk and seeing all the wildlife along the way. Wildlife includes, swans, ducks, teal, Pukeko and fern birds.
