Geocache Description:

This is the Second in a series of Licking County Recycling caches that will be located near each of their Recyling Drop-Off Locations.  This drop-off is located at Firemans Park in Alexandria.  For more information on recycling in Licking County our visit our website http://www.lcounty.com/rlc/

This is a "double" cache of sorts.  Not only are you going to see where our recycling drop off in Alexandria is.  But you also get to learn a bit of history and see something pretty cool.  Located at the park is the amazing McLain-Lobdell covered bridge.  The 47-foot covered bridge, was built across Raccoon Creek a short distance from its current location in 1871. In the 1940's it was abandoned. Until 1977 when it was moved to Firemans Park and then renovated. Unfortunately,  the bridge no longer crosses any body of water.  And although it remains in good condition,  walking on this bridge is strictly forbidden!  You do NOT need to walk onto the bridge to get to the cache!  The cache is a camo snap tight container with plenty of room for tradeables.  And the FTF will get their very own travel bug! Don't forget to practice CITO (Cache In Trash Out)!! Happy Caching!
