Geocache Description:

Ahhh, Spicebush! By far the most common plant on the trails near the Banneker Museum. It's only appropriate that we name this Geocache "Scent of Spicebush" and teach you a little about this plant. Yes, the leaves are somewhat generic looking but the smell isn't. In doubt as to whether or not a plant is spicebush? Scratch or crush a twig or leaf and smell - spicebush is known for a distinctive lemony-spicy fragrance.

Welcome to Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum!
We invite you to come explore the park and all it has to offer.
Did you know that a common name for Spicebush is Benjamin Bush? How appropriate!

The cache contains an educational insert about Spicebush... stop, read and learn more about this interesting shrub.

The park (142 acres and 6 miles of trails) is open sunrise to sunset... the museum is open Tuesday thru Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
We are Geocaching friendly with lots of parking and clean restrooms.
