Bark Spider:
Family Araneidae.
Average body length 8-22 mm.
Identification: Greyish brown with horny or leathery protuberances on their abdomen, resembling bark.
Habitat: In trees. Webs between trees and on the tree bark.
Customs: They build a large wheel web during the night which they break down during the day and sit on small branches of thorn trees. They are seldom seen due to their excellent camouflage.
Venom: Harmless to humans.
Web: Very large wheel web up to 1.5 meter in diameter.
Food: Insects.
Reproduction: Not available.
