Geocache Description:

An extreme tree climbing cache, on an island!

The cache is located on a small island on the river Brathay, parking is available a short distance up the road, see the waypoint.

Walk back along the road until the footpath ends, continue for about another 50 feet then hop over the wall to gain access to the river bank. In the summer months this side of the island can be dry, otherwise you may need to wade!

The tree is soon located, the cache can be seen from the west side, upstream, small piece of high vis tape. You need to get your rope over the branches above the cache to get access to the cache, easier from the downstream side, good luck!

Do not attempt this cache without:

  • A climbing buddy
  • A 50m rope
  • A throw line
  • A harness
  • Some sort of rope ascender
  • A helmet
  • A pen!

Nobody - not me, not geocaching.com, are responsible for your safety apart from YOU. Do not attempt if you are at all unsure. No part of this description is intended to provide any guidance or instruction whatsoever. Make sure you are personally competent to complete this challenge. Congratulations to Splendidz on your FTF, great pictures too, well done.
