Buckspoor Spider:
Family: Eresidae.
Average body length: 6-15 mm female.
Identification: Large yellow-brown oval abdomen. Covered with short hairs. Legs short and strong. Males much smaller.
Habitat: Dry sandy areas especially semi-desert areas.
Customs: Lives underground in tunnels lined with silk. The entrance is covered with a flat web that looks like a “buck spoor” form which the name comes.
Venom: Harmless to humans.
Web: Silk mat.
Food: Insects like ants.
