Cannibal Spider:
Family: Mimetidae.
Average body length: 3-7 mm.
Identification: Shiny, yellowish body with dark marks. The legs are sometimes banded. Egg shape carapace. Long, slender cheliserae. Thorny front legs.
Habitat: Webs of other spiders.
Customs: Free living; it does not construct its own web. Slow moving. Active early morning and – evening. Eats other spiders as well as their eggs.
Venom: Harmless to humans.
Web: No web.
Food: Spiders and their eggs, insects and larvae.
