Cache hidden along the 1846 Donner Party route in Emigration Canyon.
In 1846, the Donner Party traveled over Little Mountain summit and down Emigration Canyon enroute to its ill-fated destiny in the Sierras. They had trouble breaching the western end of the canyon, one of a series of delays leading to cannibalism and their demise in California. This cache is placed near their route down Emigration Canyon and contains several momentos reminiscent of their final meals. The container is a camo'd peanut butter jar with several trinkets for trading, but please do leave the mementos--you'll know what we mean.
