Garbage-line Spider:
Family: Araneidae.
Average body length: 5-10 mm.
Identification: Silver, black and grey spots. Long knobbly abdomen pointed to the back. Short legs.
Habitat: Woods, trees, shrubs, low plant growth and grass.
Customs: It makes a vertical orb web, about one meter above ground. It has a trigger line connected to the hub. Along this line it strings dead bodies of prey. The spider then hides in this prey as a defence.
Venom: Harmless to humans.
Web: Wheel web with a trigger line.
Food: Insects.
