This is a quick cache and dash or a nice place to stop for a rest near to Harthope Viaduct on an old unused section of The Old A74 between Elvanfoot and Beattock.
The cache is located on an old section of the Old A74 named as Nether Howcleugh, It was retained for use as a layby and is reasonably popular with truckers. I'd recommend tweezers and a writing implement for this cache. Please be careful with this homemade cache. Happy Caching.
