The Canadian Rockies - Calgary AB Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ferrous Oxide: Again third strike and out !
Amazing that 20lbs breaking strain, x 4 strands can just part company from a sheltered cache like that!

Please, if you come across a hanging cache, particularly a bison tube, do not remove from the fishing line or wire. Simply undo the tube and leave the top in situ while you write your log. Then re-attach the body when finished, (putting the log in the top not the body).

Farewell Calgary, time to move on up the Rockies!

Geocache Description:

This is a series of caches along the Caldon Canal in Satffordshire. There is no central  car park but the canal does run through some housing estates and parking can normally be found.

This arm of the Trent & Mersey Canal starts at Etruria Junction and continues onto Froghall Wharf.

Thanks to The Canals & Rivers Trust for granting permission to hide this cache.

I was amazed by the Canadian Rockies when I was fortunate to be able to holiday there some years ago and can recommend the country, and it’s friendly people, for a relaxing, yet exhilarating, touring holiday in Alberta (AB) and British Columbia (BC).

Calgary is a city in the province of Alberta, Canada.

It is situated at the confluence of the Bow River and the Elbow River in the south of the province, in an area of foothills and prairie, approximately 80 km (50 mi) east of the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies.

At the 2011 census, the City of Calgary had a population of 1,096,833[3] and a metropolitan population of 1,214,839, making it the largest city in Alberta, and the third-largest municipality and fifth-largest census metropolitan area (CMA) in Canada.

Cache Type.

The surface of the tow path from Etruria Junction to the Stockton Brook road bridge is suitable for puchchairs, strollers, bicycles and wheelchairs. Further on from here the path is muddy and uneven. Caches have been located on the towpath or within a few steps of it

This is a Bison Tube, you should find inside a log book, please bring your own pen or pencil. Please ensure that that you put the cache back into exactly the same place that you found it  after logging your find. , This will make maintenance so much easier. Thank you.
