D: Eine Urkunde mit Datum 825 erwähnt, dass ein Herr Uppert einen Drittel seines Besitzes in Firinisvilla ans Kloster St. Gallen übertragen hat. 1276 lautete der Ortsname Vilinsdorf. 1439 gelangte das Dorf an die Stadt Basel, die es dem Amt Liestal zuteilte.
Im 17. Jahrhundert entwickelte sich aus einer Mühle, welche die Wasserkraft der Ergolz ausnutzte, die Industriesiedlung Niederschönthal. Heute ist die Industrie verschwunden und an ihrer Stelle entstanden ein Einkaufszentrum, ein Altersheim, eine Schule und eine grosse Anzahl Wohnüberbauungen.
Heute zählt Füllinsdorf ca. 4400 Einwohner.

Dans le 17e ciècle un moulin qui utilisait l’énergie de la rivière Ergolz amorçait le développement industriel de Niederschönthal. Aujourd’hui l’industrie a disparu et un centre commercial, une maison de retraite, une école et un grand nombre d’immeubles de résidence ont pris sa place.
Füllinsdorf compte env. 4400 habitants actuellement.

E: A document dated 825 mentioned the transfer from a named Uppert of one third of his possession in Firinsvilla to the monastery of St. Gall. 1276 the name of the village was Vilinsdorf. 1439 it fell under the property of Basel and was integrated to their province of Liestal.
In the 17th century a mill using the water of the Ergolz river initiated the industrialization of Niederschönthal. In recent times a shopping mall, a senior-citizen home, a school and a great number of residential buildings have replaced the industrial buildings that disappeared over the years.
Füllinsdorf today counts about 4400 inhabitants.
