Easy traditional cachee on the west shore of Lake Lawtonka. Trail and cache are off limits during hunting season, 1 October to 15 January; finds logged during that time will be deleted.
Drive to the cattle guard at the east entrance to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge and turn north onto the road marked Lawtonka Access. Park and start your quest at the dirt cul-de-sac just south of coordinates, head north and cross the ramp fence to leave the wildlife refuge.
(Alternate route: park at Lawtonka Dam and take the blue bike trail along the south shore of the lake, this will bring you to the same spot and add about 0.75 miles each way.)
The green bike trail is a great hike as well as a great biking destination. Enjoy your walk.
