Indian Springs Traditional Cache

This place was Chandler Oklahoma's first water supply.  It was Councilground for Indian tribes and campsite for freigters and travelers.  U.S. Government survey 1874.  It was chosen as townsite for the 1891 run due to it's geographic center of the county,

There is a monument located to the east of the spring.  "Statue donated in memory of Kate Litten and Fred Turner.  Park given by the estate of General Roy Hoffman.  Historic Site preserved by Indian Springs Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution."   On the other side reads, "Indian Springs, Councilground for Indian Tribes and center of Indian hunting grounds and campsite for freighters and travelers.  US Government survey 1874.  Chandler water supply 1891.  Log only bring your own pen, enjoy the hunt.  History is Here!
